the titles many ways keep to the stereo types opening titles of a film, as there is a lot of them themselves which are seen almost three minutes into the start of the film, and we also see the production indent of DreamWorks and Warner Bros.
Sweeney Todd is totally different to a normal opening title with the lack of information that is given to the audience and we are barely given any idea of setting or of characters, we are shown the story as we see the barbers chair and the pies with blood dripping through them. this makes the audience feel uncomfortable because blood is not deemed as a nice thing.
The opening uses sound to help create a creepy atmosphere. this is shown through the use of musical instruments which echo which gives us an idea of danger. As the titles start to appear the instruments changes, there are almost sounds of cogs turning and blood dripping this makes the audience feel uneasy and its building tension for something to happen.
the overall camera movement is slow but it flows with zooming in and out engaging the viewer. I feel that this was done in order to contrast with the blood that's constantly flowing in the opening sequence which is similar to the flow of the whole opening sequence.
Below is the opening titles to the film Sweeney Todd it creates a dark and sinister mood to start the film this is done through a mix of camerawork, mise en scene, soundtrack and editing.
The sound the organs create for the Sweeney Todd opening sequence is almost you very stereotypical spooky backing track which i feel adds a feel of dark humour as it sounds like a haunted wedding song. Throughout the Opening sequence there is a element of dark humour which relates to the backing track at the start, It makes the audience feel very uncomfortable as the sounds are very loud and sudden, its not a very happy backing track more or one to spook you.
